When do I need a concrete testing?

When someone decides to prepare a dish, they typically follow a recipe. This recipe guarantees that the right dish is created to perfection; any changes or missed steps can change the result. The same is true in the case of concrete. If you want high-strength concrete, then you won’t follow the same steps towards its creation as you would with medium-strength concrete.

Concrete needs to be regularly tested during its development, however, it is also especially important to test it after construction. The real question is when, though? Well, the answer is purely based on the amount of cracks, along with their respective sizes. If you notice cracks less than one-eighth of an inch, then there is not much cause for concern since this is typical of concrete settling. These cracks should be marked for further observation, just in case they do grow larger.

If the crack you notice is larger or is currently growing, then it is indeed a sign for concern. In this case, a structural engineer should be consulted, and if further cracks are noted, then concrete testing should become an option. This type of testing is important because it may make the difference between avoiding structural disasters or outrageously expensive repairs.
